The ControlByWeb® X-DTS-S12-SUB is a heavy-duty digital temperature sensor engineered for reliable liquid and ambient temperature monitoring in harsh industrial, environmental, and outdoor applications. Featuring a 304 Stainless Steel probe body and high-durability TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) cable insulation, this sensor offers outstanding chemical and weather resistance against acids, alkalis, ketones, esters, aliphatics, aromatics, oils, gasoline, and direct sunlight exposure.
Powered by a Maxim DS18B20 digital 1-Wire sensor, the X-DTS-S12-SUB delivers high accuracy across an operating temperature range of -67°F to 257°F (-55°C to +125°C), maintaining ±0.5°C precision in the critical -10°C to +85°C (14°F to 185°F) range. It features a 3 in (76.2 mm) stainless steel probe tip and comes equipped with a 13.1 ft (4 m) TPE-jacketed cable, extendable up to 600 ft (183 m) without signal loss.
Note on Liquid Submersion: While the manufacturer no longer officially holds a continuous submersion rating for this model, practical field experience shows it performs reliably when submerged in water for extended periods (typically 3–4 years in outdoor water environments). Because long-term submersion can eventually lead to moisture intrusion into internal circuit components, the sensor should be treated as a consumable item requiring periodic replacement in fully submerged setups. To drastically extend operational lifespan, it is recommended to submerge only the 304 stainless steel probe tip rather than the entire cable assembly.
