Description
The Macromatic TCP2G100 is a plug-in seal leak and over-temperature relay engineered to protect submersible pump motors from thermal burnout and fluid contamination. Operating on a 120 VAC control supply, this dual-function monitoring relay combines over-temperature protection and resistance-sensing seal leakage detection into a single compact module that mounts into an industry-standard 11-pin octal socket.
During normal operation with no faults, the over-temperature relay remains energized through the motor’s normally closed (N.C.) thermal switch, and the seal leak relay remains de-energized. If motor temperatures exceed safe limits, the thermal switch opens, de-energizing the relay to open the pump contactor circuit and prevent motor failure; the unit automatically resets once the temperature cools. Concurrently, the seal leak circuit monitors internal pump cavity resistance using a 5V DC pulsed sensing voltage. If fluid breaches the seal and drops cavity resistance below the user-adjustable sensitivity set-point, the seal leak relay energizes to trigger an external alarm. Top-mounted dual-color LEDs (TEMP and LEAK) offer immediate visual status for input power, thermal conditions, and seal integrity.
