Description
The Macromatic PMD575 is a heavy-duty, 575 VAC 3-phase line voltage monitoring relay engineered to protect industrial equipment, high-voltage motors, and commercial HVAC systems against severe power quality faults. Using True RMS voltage sensing technology, the PMD575 delivers accurate monitoring across a wide voltage range of 345 to 660 VAC, making it ideal for systems prone to line distortion or harmonics.
Housed in a compact 2.07 in (52.5 mm) modular enclosure, this relay continuously evaluates incoming 3-phase power against five critical fault conditions: phase loss, phase reversal, phase unbalance, undervoltage, and overvoltage. Operators can fine-tune protection parameters via front-panel analog dials, including adjustable undervoltage (80–95%), adjustable phase unbalance (2–10%), adjustable trip delay (0.3 to 30 seconds), and adjustable restart delay (1 to 300 seconds). Equipped with heavy-duty 10A DPDT contacts, a bi-color diagnostic LED with lost-phase memory, and dual mounting capabilities for 35mm DIN rail or panel surface mounting, the PMD575 offers robust defense against rapid equipment cycling and phase failure.
Key Features
- Comprehensive 5-Point 3-Phase Protection: Protects 575 VAC machinery against phase loss, phase reversal, phase unbalance, undervoltage, overvoltage, and rapid cycling.
- True RMS Voltage Measurement: Provides accurate, reliable line voltage sensing even on power grids with high electrical noise or non-linear loads.
- Fully Adjustable Field Settings: Features independent front-panel controls for undervoltage (80–95%), phase unbalance (2–10%), fault delay (0.3–30 s), and restart delay (1–300 s).
- Dual Mounting Flexibility: Snaps directly onto standard 35mm DIN rail or surface mounts to panel backplates using integrated extended mounting clips for #8 screws.
- Heavy-Duty 10A DPDT Output: Double Pole Double Throw (DPDT) contact configuration provides versatile control circuit interlocks and alarm signaling.
- Diagnostic LED with Fault Retention: Top-mounted bi-color LED gives immediate visual fault diagnostics and retains indication even if a phase is completely lost.
- Selectable Auto / Manual Reset: Resets automatically upon fault recovery, or supports manual reset wiring via an external switch connected across terminals 4 and 5.
