Functionality

The GRI-28C-W consists of a magnetic reed switch and a magnet. The reed switch is mounted on the door or window frame, while the magnet is mounted on the door or window itself. When the magnet comes within range of the reed switch, the switch opens or closes its contacts based on the wiring configuration.

Connected to a ControlByWeb product’s digital input, the sensor triggers the digital input on/off when the magnetic switch detects the presence or absence of the magnet. This allows the ControlByWeb product to send email/text alerts and/or trigger relays in local or remote locations based on the sensor’s status.
